5th Grade Ambassadors Showcase New Program at "Good Things" BOE Presentation

Ont Monday, March 10th, Meadowlark Elementary 5th Grade Ambassadors presented a truly exciting new initiative happening at Meadowlark. This presentation highlighted the recently implemented Brag Tag program, an innovative system designed to recognize and celebrate students' academic achievements, positive behaviors, and progress across various school activities.

Three ambassadors spoke with confidence and pride, explaining how the Brag Tag program works and shared their enthusiasm about their roles as ambassadors. They talked about the rigorous application and interview process they went through to become Ambassadors, a position they hold with great responsibility and honor. As Ambassadors, they serve as role models for their peers and leaders in fostering a positive school culture. Their presentation was a powerful testament to the leadership, dedication, and teamwork that our students demonstrate every day.

The Ambassadors also took the opportunity to showcase the tags they earned for their achievements in reading and math, which are part of the program's core focus. Through this new initiative, students are motivated to pass lessons in both reading and math programs, with each completed lesson earning them a tag as a recognition of their hard work. The Brag Tags are not only a way to celebrate individual success but also to inspire a healthy sense of competition and camaraderie among students.

Looking ahead, the Ambassadors shared some exciting future plans for the Brag Tag program. Along with tags for lessons passed in reading and math, the school is expanding the program to recognize other aspects of student growth. Next year, students will earn tags for achievements such as being recognized as "Student of the Month," perfect attendance, or reaching 100% on a lesson. There are also plans to offer special tags for exceptional accomplishments like meeting student achievement goals, making progress toward grade-level scores, and achieving excellence in specific classrooms or specials.

This presentation was not only a wonderful opportunity to showcase our students' hard work but also to celebrate the positive impact of the Brag Tag program on our school community. We look forward to watching this initiative grow and continue to inspire our students to strive for excellence and take pride in their learning journey.

Our 5th Grade Ambassadors are leading the way in making our school a place where every achievement is celebrated, and every student is motivated to reach their fullest potential. We couldn’t be more proud of their efforts and excited for the bright future ahead in middle school.
